SA Rugby will be facilitating a Rugby Conference at The Memorial Drive Complex, War Memorial Drive on 19 and 20 February 2010.
The aim of the conference is to consolidate courses for Club Coaches, Junior Coordinators, Secretaries/Administrators and Officials into the one weekend to reduce the demand on club volunteers and officials throughout the year.

Coaching Kids (Fri 1800 – 2100)
It is strongly recommended that all junior coaches attend this session to gain valuable knowledge and resources, also to gain an understanding of the importance of long term player development (LTPD).
2010 will see the introduction of a new format for the younger age groups, there will be a new U6 program offered that will be explained at the course.
Level 1 Touch Judge Course (Fri 1800 – 2100) PLEASE NOTE THIS COURSE SCHEDULED FOR 19 FEBRUARY IS CANCELLED
The level 1 Touch Judge course is the first step to becoming an official of the game. The course is designed to give all attendees a better understanding of the Laws, improve individual communication skills and ultimately award each individual with a level 1 Touch Judge accreditation.
SmartRugby (Sat 1000 – 1200)
This is a train the trainer course with the focus being on the technical safety aspects of the game of Rugby. All personnel who coach or referee tackle Rugby must be SmartRugby compliant, this is a bi-annual qualification.
SmartRugby is also the first step to becoming a qualified coach.
Club Administrators Presentation (Sat 1000 – 1300)
The annual Club Administrators presentation is designed to provide all Club Administrators with an update on SA Rugby procedures and policies and tools required for the 2010 season. Also included in this session is an update on My Rugby Admin. It is strongly advised that all club administrators attend this presentation.
Law Updates and Game Management Guidelines (Sat 1200 – 1300)
The module will consist of a presentation of the 2010 Game Management Guidelines distributed by the ARU, followed by an update on current laws.
Following the presentation of the guidelines an open discussion will take place between Referees (with their interpretation of the guidelines) and Coaches.
