Kick Start

As part of the South Australian Primary Schools Rugby Union Pathway, the Australian and South Australian Rugby Unions run free in-school clinics held early in early Term 1, 2008.

The clinics are designed to prepare students for the SAPSASA Regional Walla Rugby Sevens Tournament to be held late in Term 1, 2008. The top two school team/teams are invited to attend the State Championships. To find out more, click on the SAPSASA 7's link to the right.

SA Rugby talent scouts attend each of the regionalised SAPSASA Walla Sevens Tournaments to identify any child showing potential in the game of Rugby and are not currently playing for a South Australian club. They will be invited to a series of training sessions where they will be trained in the safety aspects and skills of tackle Rugby.

Upon commencement of training, 2 seven-a-side teams are selected to compete in the South Australian Junior Sevens Championships against club teams from across the State.

The South Australian Schools Rugby Union provides competitions for Secondary School students in the age grades of U15, U16 & U18. Participating in this pathway gives students the chance to represent South Australia at the Australian Schoolboys Championships in Geelong under the watchful eye of the Australian Rugby Union talent scouts.
