Vodafone Adelaide Black Falcons vs Darwin Mosquitoes Match Review
The Vodafone Adelaide Black Falcons withstood a spirited challenge from Darwin Mosquitoes to triumph by just six points in a high-scoring rugby clash at Parkinson Oval on Saturday.
After bagging two tries in the opening five minutes, the Black Falcons were never headed in the 39-33 win.
Pacy winger Mike Leawere then set the tone for the clash when he charged over for two early tries.
Both sides were prepared to throw the ball around and play an expansive game. Flanker Dan Naylor was outstanding for the home side along with centre Nathan Satala and full back Leigh Cunnington, who capped an impressive performance with a second-half try.
Cunnington made his debut in the state side yesterday after converting from Australian Rules Football three years back.
The state side will meet Melbourne at Etihad Stadium as a curtain raiser to the Wallabies clash with Italy on June 20.
