Women’s and Schoolboys State Representative Teams Results

The Women’s State Representative Team, the Southern Warriors, competed at the National Championships in Tallbudgera, Queensland.

This is the first time since 2006 that the Southern Warriors have competed at the National Championships. The girls played extremely well against the Australian Services team but went down 12-10. The second match was against the tough NSW Development Team where SA lost 20 to 0. The team showed great improvement at these Championships and were commended by the Australian Rugby Union.

The Schoolboys State Representative Team has been in action recently at the Australian Schools Division II Championships in Geelong.

The boys played Western Australia on Day One going down 37 – 5. On Day Two the team played Victoria in a non-competition match.

Day Three saw the Schoolboys take on the Lloyd McDermott Team and lost 32–10.

Congratulations go to Willem Zwaan from Henley High School and Western Districts Vikings Rugby Club who was selected in the Combined States team to play in the Division One Schools Championships from 8-13 July.

The Under 12 Representative Team will be heading to Canberra in September and the Under 16 Representative Team will be heading to Sydney in October for the National Championships.
