ARU High Performance Unit in Adelaide to train local coaches
Ben Whittaker, from the Australian Rugby Union’s High Performance Unit was in Adelaide on Friday 30 October to up skill the local coaches who are to be involved in the 2009/2010 SA Rugby Academy.
The SA Rugby Academy is part of the elite pathway for junior rugby players in South Australia and is expanding in 2010 to include 100 athletes from all over the state. The new program will have four zones, catering for 25 athletes in each zone. The program is aimed at the U17 age group for the 2010 season.
In addition to Ben, the ARU Strength and Conditioning Coach was also in Adelaide and supplemented his trip with a session with Port Power’s Strength and Conditioning Coach, Cam Falloon to exchange ideas and training regimes.
