SA Rugby mourns the passing of an inspirational figure in the game

South Australian Rugby Union extends its condolences to the family of Richard Arthur Badcock, a well-known, much-loved and inspirational figure who passed away, aged 84, at the weekend.

Richard was a life member of South Australian Rugby Union and a member of the Hall of Fame. Richard played 353 games, was a referee and administrator for a period spanning some fifty-five years from 1948-2003. Richard was a founding member of the Elizabeth Rugby Union Football Club and also a Life Member of that Club.

Richard’s contribution to Rugby Union in South Australia was immense and he will be sadly missed by the entire South Australian Rugby community.
