Team Selection for Southern States Primary School Interstate Tournament 4th-5th Oct 2011
South Australia will again be competing at the Southern States Interstate Primary School Competition, which this year is being held in Sydney on the 4th and 5th October 2011.
Nominations have been called for players to try out for the U12 State Representative Team.
It is the Club U12 Team Managers and Coaches responsibility to nominate players within their team that meet the criteria set out by SA Rugby (refer to memo sent to Club Junior Representatives on 30 June), and invite these players to attend the first squad training session that will take place on Sunday 10th July 2011 at Brighton Oval, Cnr Brighton Rd and Highett Rd, from 2:00pm to 5:00pm.
Over the 3 weeks from 10th July through 24th July, this squad will go through numerous playing drills and evaluations to assess performance, skills and importantly, attitude to determine suitability to represent their State. After the final squad training session on 24th July, the final squad of 22 players will be selected and notified.
In order to nominate players, the Club U12 Team Managers and Coaches will need to complete the form provided to Club Junior Representatives and return it to Conrad Groenewald - conrad.groenewald@visy.com.au - by Monday 4th July 2011.
If players are unable to attend due to injury, we would request that these players still attend the sessions. If for any other reason a player is unable to attend, please ensure they contact the Team Coach – Jay Brown 0488 062 162.
