Neil Kitchen of North Torrens RUFC wins 2011 Coopers Legends of Light!

SA Rugby would like to congratulate Neil Kitchen of North Torrens RUFC who is the winner of the 2011 Coopers Legends of Light competition!

Neil has been awarded with a sporting holiday of his choice valued at $2,000!

Here is little more about Neil and why he was nominated for the Legends of Light:

Neil, the bar manager of North Torrens Rugby Union Club, broke his neck playing Rugby 14 years ago. After a year in rehab he managed to walk with a stick and then unaided. He continued to support the club and became bar manager 6 years ago. Neil now runs the bar completely and is there every Thursday, Saturday home games and functions, as well as supporting the club at every away game. Neil takes a week off work when the International Rugby Sevens Adelaide are here to look after the international players when they train at North Torrens RUFC grounds.

He is also a member of the SA Crippled Crows Golden Oldies Rugby team and has attended festivals in Wellington NZ, UK and Sydney. Previously Neil played at these festivals, but now he helps with team selection because of ongoing problems with his back and neck. Neil loves Rugby and is a true Rugby legend.
