Week 1 of the 2010 Finals Series

SA Rugby would like to thank all clubs for their support and efforts in carrying out the dispensation process for this year’s finals. All information regarding eligibility for finals has been sent out to individual clubs listing any further requirements. Teams should have now received 25 tickets each for entry on the day that they are playing. Any player attempting entry without a ticket will be charged. Team managers have been issued with a car pass for team equipment, however access to the ground will be governed by the ground conditions on the day.

The October 2010 round of theActive Club Programis now open! The Active Club Programsupportsorganisations at a grassroots level by providing active recreation

and sport funding under three categories:

The 2010 Don Smith Presentation Night will be held on Wednesday 8 September at the Glenelg Surf Life Saving Club 6:30pm for 7:00pm. Tickets are $50 each and includes a three course meal (beverages not included).

SA Rugby Junior Black Falcons Team Presentation and Wine Tasting Afternoon

Date: Sunday 12th September 1300

Venue: Function Room North Stand, Tennis SA Centre, Memorial Drive Adelaide

Function: 2010 SA Rugby Junior Black Falcons Team Presentation & Wine Tasting afternoon

Wine maker in attendance: Todd Riethmuller of Domain Barossa Wines

Please come and support the future of SA Rugby and meet the U20’s that will be heading to the Gold Coast 24th – 27th September to play against some strong opposition. They will be preparing to take on Victoria, Western Australia and Tasmania on their return in matches to be played at Bailey Reserve, Clarence Gardens on 1st – 3rd October. All proceeds will help send the young men to Queensland.

Wine Maker Todd will be introducing a selection of wines for tasting after which these will be available for purchase or ordering should you wish.

The 2010 SA Rugby Grand Final Lunch will be held on Friday 17 September in the Star Room at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre 12:30pm for 1pm.

Come along and hear from the Captains and Coaches who will be competing in the Premier Grade Grand Final, along with a special key note speaker. Tickets are $55 and includes a two course meal (beverages not included).

State Representative Teams

U12 State Representative Team Announced!

Following preliminary trials back on the Sunday 27th June 2010, 40 U12’s players from clubs across Adelaide attended four training sessions, before taking part in a final trial game on Sunday 30th August 2010. After much deliberation the following players have been selected to represent South Australia in the forthcoming Southern States Primary School Competition between South Australia, Victoria, New South Wales & ACT on the Saturday 18th September 2010 and Sunday 19th September 2010 at Vikings Rugby Club, Gleneagles Reserve, Alisa Avenue, Seaton.

Brighton – Ben Milford, Sebastian Stocks, Jake Powley, Lewis Powley, Joshua Connell, Will Shelton, Ryan France,

Media Stories

SA Rugby has recruited two UniSA Media students to write reviews of the Premier Grade matches to assist with lifting the profile of Rugby in South Australia. Their names are Huw Cushing and Adam Holmes, and they may approach you for team sheets and other information for these reviews. It would be greatly appreciated if you could assist them where possible to create interesting content which we are hoping will be published in the Messenger Newspapers.
