There are currently no women state teams competing in 2008.
Despite the ongoing concerns regarding numbers of players, there is no doubt that we have some excellent talent. It is a tribute to South Australian Women’s Rugby that at the beginning of 2006 the national selectors were considering a number of South Australian women for positions in the Australian side.
Lito Fata (Right) of Burnside/Elizabeth was eventually selected for that honor and travelled with the Australian Wallaroos to Canada in August 2006 to play in the Women’s World Cup. She is the first South Australian woman to play for the Australian team.
